La vera barriera non è la scala, la carrozzina o la fragilità. La vera barriera nasce quando il dolore degli altri diventa un’abitudine quotidiana accettata. Una società che si abitua a non vedere, a non ascoltare e a non comprendere rischia lentamente di perdere la propria umanità. Il futuro dell’Europa non sarà misurato soltanto dalla tecnologia, dall’economia o dal potere, ma dalla capacità di custodire la dignità delle persone, soprattutto di quelle più fragili.

The real barrier is not the staircase, the wheelchair, or fragility itself. The real barrier begins when the pain of others becomes an accepted daily habit. A society that gets used to not seeing, not listening, and not understanding slowly risks losing its own humanity. The future of Europe will not be measured only by technology, economics, or power, but by its ability to protect dignity, especially for the most fragile among us.

La vraie barrière n’est ni l’escalier, ni le fauteuil roulant, ni la fragilité elle-même. La vraie barrière commence lorsque la douleur des autres devient une habitude quotidienne acceptée. Une société qui s’habitue à ne plus voir, à ne plus écouter et à ne plus comprendre risque lentement de perdre son humanité. L’avenir de l’Europe ne sera pas seulement mesuré par la technologie, l’économie ou le pouvoir, mais aussi par sa capacité à protéger la dignité des personnes, surtout des plus fragiles.
