First Note – English

To be chosen as a member of the evaluation committee of the 9° Premio San Giustino Russolillo was not simply an honor for me.
It was a return to the school of life, where young people do not ask for applause, but for adults capable of looking into their eyes and recognizing their journey.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Vocational Family, to the educators, teachers, families, and above all to the young people—the true living energy of our time.

In every work, in every gesture, in every uncertainty transformed into courage, I saw once again the light that Saint Justin Maria Russolillo always pointed toward:
to educate means to believe in someone before seeing the final result.

As an old man of school, of the streets, and of memory, I carry this day with gratitude, because the future is not built by loud voices, but by those who know how to listen.

Psalm for the Young

Lord,
protect the young people You have entrusted to us.

Give them hands able to build,
eyes able to recognize truth,
and hearts wide enough
to leave no one behind.

Give them courage in times of fear,
wisdom in times of confusion,
silence when listening is needed,
and voice when justice must be defended.

And to us adults,
grant the grace not only to teach,
but to walk beside them.

Seconda Nota – Italiano

Essere stato chiamato a far parte della commissione del 9° Premio San Giustino Russolillo non è stato per me un semplice incarico.
È stato un ritorno alla scuola della vita, lì dove i giovani non chiedono applausi, ma adulti capaci di guardarli negli occhi e riconoscerne il cammino.

Il mio grazie va alla Famiglia Vocazionista, agli educatori, ai docenti, alle famiglie e soprattutto ai ragazzi, vera energia del nostro tempo.

In ogni elaborato, in ogni gesto, in ogni esitazione trasformata in coraggio, ho ritrovato quella luce che San Giustino Maria Russolillo indicava sempre:
educare significa credere in qualcuno prima ancora di vederne il risultato.

Da uomo di scuola, di strada e di memoria, porto questa giornata nel cuore, perché il futuro non nasce dalle parole gridate, ma dagli sguardi che sanno ascoltare.

Salmo per i ragazzi

Signore,
custodisci i ragazzi che ci hai affidato.

Dona loro mani capaci di costruire,
occhi capaci di riconoscere la verità,
e cuori abbastanza grandi
da non lasciare indietro nessuno.

Dona loro coraggio nei momenti di paura,
sapienza nei momenti di dubbio,
silenzio quando occorre ascoltare,
e voce quando la giustizia chiama.

E a noi adulti,
concedi non solo di insegnare,
ma di camminare accanto a loro.
