Dal Decumano, grazie ragazzi.
Il mio ruolo di diversamente vecchio di penna e foto, a vostra disposizione, mi ringiovanisce. Voi avete dato forma al mentore che sono, e nello stare insieme cresce la possibilità vera: trasferire memoria, non per conservarla in vetrina, ma per rimetterla in circolo. Non siamo solo uomini che si cercano: siamo uomini che si riconoscono. E, come afferma Danny Levie, impariamo ad amare chi ci mette il cuore.
A tarda età si incontra ancora il mondo di Babele — ma non più come confusione: come ricchezza di lingue, di sguardi, di gesti che si intrecciano. Da filosofo della strada e antropologo del quotidiano, dico che lì dentro c’è la nostra occasione: trasformare la differenza in comprensione, il frammento in racconto comune. Dal Decumano non si chiude: si apre. E la memoria, se cammina con i giovani, diventa futuro.

From the Decumano, thank you guys.
My role as a “differently old” man of pen and photography, at your disposal, makes me feel young again. You have given shape to the mentor I am, and being together increases what truly matters: the transmission of memory—not to preserve it in a display case, but to set it in motion again. We are not just men searching for one another; we are men recognizing one another. And, as Danny Levie says, we learn to love those who put their heart into what they do.
Even at a later age, we still encounter the world of Babel—no longer as confusion, but as a richness of languages, perspectives, and gestures that intertwine. As a philosopher of the street and an anthropologist of the everyday, I see in it our real opportunity: to turn difference into understanding, fragments into a shared narrative. From the Decumano nothing closes; everything opens. And memory, when it walks with the young, becomes the future.
